Trustees and Staff

Director - David Quoroll
Director since establishment in 1996. I hold qualifications in Botany, teaching and management and am interested in all aspects of natural history and heritage. I enjoy walking, exploring, kayaking, music and sports.

Chairman - Roger Wilton
I have served with the Trust since 2000 and been chairman since 2001.Chartered Fire Safety Engineer, Grand Dad, Morris Dancer and one-time Horsham District Councillor. Classic Car and Narrow boat enthusiast. Inspiration: a relayed conversation with a 7 year old from a London school who said "When we go back to England I am going to tell all my friends about Sayers Croft it's a wonderful place".

Secretary - Michael Zilka
After a commercial career involving postings in Nigeria, Brazil and South Africa, I became involved with the Trust following working with The David Shepherd Foundation and Virginia McKenna at Born Free. I helped David Quoroll set up the Trust in 1996 and have acted as the administrative and fundraising officer ever since. Apart from my love of wildlife I am a very keen tennis player.

Honorary Treasurer - Bruce Dean
I am the Honorary Treasurer of the Trust and have lived in Ewhurst for 35 years. Both my children have greatly enjoyed the many activities on offer at Sayers Croft. I have a keen interest in environmental matters and have been responsible for some major environmental and energy projects during my career.

Trustee - Anna Mungavin
Local mum, introduced to Sayers Croft through my children's school visits. I have been a volunteer with the Trust since 2006 helping with school groups and activity programmes, and a trustee since 2007. I enjoy walking, wildlife and natural crafts, such as willow weaving. Highlight: The friendly, welcoming environment of the centre and its staff.

Trustee - Victoria Helstrip
Grandmother, traveller, Ewhurst Parish Councillor and member of the Ewhurst Players who have entertained both old and young at the Centre. I have been a supporter of Sayers Croft since taking one of my young lambs into a class there many years ago! As a Parish Councillor particularly concerned with community care, it is a privilege to be involved in their present work.

Trustee - Nigel Farrington
Ex Chairman of the Parish Council, retired Architect, most recently designed EYSC building and the Chrurch room (The Wilson Room). I live next to Rapsley footpath and love the sound of the children's expeditions into the countryside on their way up Coneyhurst Hill - sometimes to call in and see the Roman Villa ruins. It must be a wonderful experience for them coming to Sayers Croft - long may it continue.

Community Education Officer - Sarah Miles
I started as the Community Education Officer in August 2010. I worked as an Assistant Instructor at Sayers Croft for a year before taking over my current role and I am loving every minute. I graduated from the University of St Andrews in 2009 with a degree in Marine Biology and my favourite activity at the centre is pond dipping because the children get so excited when they catch something!
