Our Facilities

The Sayers Croft Environmental Educational Trust is taking an active role in the care and management of the countryside around Sayers Croft.

The Burrow

The Burrow is our activity base and is available for use by local groups and organisations when it is not needed for Trust groups. There is no charge but ask that users give a donation towards the work of the Trust.

The Burrow is a large room with a separate toilet. It contains 6 large foldaway tables, 40 chairs, sinks, a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities (bring your own milk) a whiteboard and TV/video. It does not have any cooking facilities.

It is ideal as a venue for meetings, talks, youth activities or rehearsal space.

The Local Nature Reserve

Sayers Croft Trust owns 27 acres of land adjoining the Sayers Croft Field Centre. This educational nature reserve comprises ancient woodland, meadow, pond, hedges and a meandering stream which can be viewed and studied from observation platforms and a raised walkway.

The oak and hazel woodland is of great ecological and historical interest with Roman and Medieval remains. It has a wealth of wildlife including foxes, badgers and deer.

At the edges of Coveys ground, a large hay meadow, there is an exciting ropes course and zip wire for use by visiting groups in their adventure and teambuilding programmes.
