Wild Club - Teddy Bear Picnic

Free, drop-in session. This month we will be enjoying the summer weather with a Teddy Bear Picnic! Bring a blanket and teddy and join us as we have a go at some Teddy Olympic games. From discus and javelin to sprints and obstacle courses we will test ourselves and our bears - everyone who participates will get a medal! Some juice and snacks will be provided but you are more than welcome to bring your own picnic to enjoy.

Gold Duke of Edinburgh Residential Week

Sayers Croft are pleased to offer a dedicated Gold Duke of Edinburgh residential week at our centre, based in Ewhurst, Surrey from the 20th - 24th July 2015. The week will consist of adventure activities, such as rock climbing, high ropes, zip wire and archery as well as conservation work. Previous projects have included tree coppicing, tree planting, fence building, path laying, pond dredging and woodland management. As well as fulfilling the requirements for the Gold Residential section, participants will also gain a John Muir Discovery award. Wild Club - Super Streams

Free, drop-in session for children 0-5 years old, their parents and any older siblings. This week we will be building our own paper rafts and taking them down to the stream to race. After this we will play Pooh sticks and go for a streamwalk climbing over trees and through pools. A change of clothes for both adults and children will be required!

Step into the Stone Age

Step back in time as we become Stone Age people! You will choose your own Stone Age name and become the best hunter-gatherer around! You will need to track to find food, learn how to light a fire, get creative with cave art, discover what medicines were used and build your own stone age shelter.

John Muir Discovery Award Course

Mon 3rd August 1510am-4pm

This course is run over 4 days (Mon 3rd, Tues 4th, Mon 10th, Tues 11th August) from 10am-4pm each day and costs just £80. Participants will complete the John Muir Discovery Award which requires them to discover a wild place, explore it, conserve it and share their experiences. This four-day course will see participants discovering and exploring Sayers Croft initially (including our adventure activities such as zip wire, high ropes and caving) before coming up with a plan to conserve the important habitats at Sayers Croft and finally sharing the whole experience with friends and family. Each participant completing the course will leave with a John Muir Discovery Award certificate - a great thing to have on a CV! More information will be sent out on booking. Camping at the Croft

Come and join us for our annual camping event. Arrive from 3pm on Saturday. We will hold a BBQ of local food at 6pm including dessert, followed by a campfire. Our evening activities include games, a nightwalk in the woods and setting humane traps for mammals and moths so you can catch a glimpse of nocturnal wildlife at Sayers Croft. Bat Walk and Talk with Surrey Bat Group

Join us for an evening talk and walk with Martyn Phillis from Surrey Bat Group. He will begin the evening with a short talk on bats followed by a dusk walk at 8pm to try and spot as many bats as we can with our bat detectors. Don't worry if we don't see any as Martyn will have a couple of the little critters for us to see up close and personal! Spaces are strictly limited and must be booked for all party members (adults and children) so please book early to avoid disappointment. Half of the proceeds of this evening will go to The Surrey Bat Group.
