Aims of the Trust
Sayers Croft Trust is a registered Charity and is managed by a board of trustees. The Trust's Community Education Officer has the day to day responsibility of running projects and activities in line with the Trust's aims and objectives.
The aims of the Trust are as follows:
- To provide opportunities for people from the local area, particularly young people, to enjoy, learn about, understand and care for their natural environment
- To provide fun, adventurous challenge activities for young people that foster good relationships, self esteem, teamwork and social skills in a safe environment.
- To encourage the use of Sayers Croft Field Centre and its facilities by individuals, families and groups who would otherwise not have access due to physical, mental, financial, cultural or social circumstances.
- To promote education for sustainability, helping people to understand local, national and international issues such as conservation of species
and habitats, climate change and energy and waste management.
- To contribute to the local community by making our activity base, The Burrow, available to neighbourhood groups and by encouraging participation in training and volunteering opportunities and experiences.
- To take an active part in the care and conservation of the local environment including the management of the Sayers Croft Local Nature Reserve.
